Using BigOit
Terms & Conditions
These terms are an agreement between you and the BigOit developer covering your use of the BigOit iOS app. By downloading or using BigOit you accept them.
1. What BigOit is
BigOit is an offline AI assistant. It downloads an open-weights language model to your device and runs it locally. It is a tool for drafting, explaining and answering questions. It is not a person, and it is not a professional adviser of any kind.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use BigOit on Apple devices you own or control, in line with the Apple Media Services Terms.
You may not:
- copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits;
- remove or obscure any proprietary notice; or
- use the app in breach of applicable law or of these terms.
3. AI output — please read this part
Language models generate plausible text. They can be confidently wrong. They invent facts, citations, quantities and code that does not work, and the small models that fit on a phone are more prone to this than large server models.
Do not rely on BigOit’s output for medical, legal, financial, safety or other consequential decisions. Verify anything that matters against a qualified professional or an authoritative source. You are responsible for what you do with the output.
You own the prompts you write. As between you and us, you may use the output as you see fit — we claim no rights over it, and since it never reaches us we could not exercise any.
Be aware that output may not be original, may resemble material the model was trained on, and may not attract copyright protection in your jurisdiction.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use BigOit to create or facilitate:
- unlawful material of any kind;
- sexual content involving minors;
- harassment, threats or targeted abuse;
- content designed to deceive, defraud or impersonate;
- malware, or instructions for attacking systems you are not authorised to test; or
- weapons, explosives, or biological, chemical, radiological or nuclear harm.
Because BigOit runs entirely on your device, we cannot see, moderate or intervene in what you generate. That makes this section your responsibility rather than a rule we enforce, and it does not reduce your obligations under applicable law.
5. Third-party models and downloads
The model weights BigOit offers are published by third parties — currently the LiteRT community on Hugging Face — under their own licences. The Gemma 4 and Qwen 3 models currently offered by BigOit are licensed under Apache License 2.0. Downloading a model means accepting the licence attached to it.
We do not own those models, do not warrant them, and are not responsible for their content or behaviour.
Model files are large. Any data charges from your network operator, and the storage they consume on your device, are yours.
6. Your data
BigOit stores your conversations on your device only. You are responsible for keeping anything you want to keep: uninstalling the app, deleting chats, enabling auto-delete, or losing the device removes them permanently, and we hold no backup.
See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
7. No warranty
BigOit is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that BigOit will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its output will be accurate or suitable for any purpose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits a consumer right that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of BigOit. Our total liability for any claim relating to BigOit is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or ten US dollars.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Changes and termination
We may update BigOit and these terms. Material changes are published here with a new date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it. You may end this agreement at any time by deleting the app.
10. Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to support or maintain BigOit. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you. Any claim that the app fails to conform to a warranty may be directed to Apple for a refund of the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of the UAE have jurisdiction — except where the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings there instead.
